Here is my first blog post!! As the start of the holidays approach I am very into watching 'The Newsroom'. The basis of this show is (as the title states) about a newsroom and the staff within such, releasing breaking news from the U.S and the scandals between the individuals that follow. Without letting too much away, yes it is worth watching. If you're interested in world affairs, politics and overall a bit of trashy drama - Newsroom is worth a watch. I'm halfway through the second season and looking forward to finishing this season off - the next season is released in November.

So safe to say i've been a bit preoccupied and haven't kept up sufficiently with how my tv show interests have been going. However, in this preoccupied time i persevered to the final episode of news room and it was absolutely amazing. Now, lets not spoil anything because everyone hates that one person who just gives away the crucial element.. but its what the audience wants to see. The use of flashbacks, circular filming and lighting are vital in creating the show's intense atmosphere and most definitely have been a favourite of mine in watching such. After newsroom, I have gone to watch a bit of Adventure Time to 'zone out'. Adventure time, though a children's show, still contains many adult innuendo's which make it enjoyable to watch. I am not sure if I should start a new tv series, or continue to watch a few more adventure time. The episode i just watched contained Elephant Tree Trunks and the humour associated with the character is fantastic!

Given the intense current affairs in the world, tv programs that document and follow such tend to be very interesting and give new perspectives and opinions that can widen an individuals current one. One of these that I have recently viewed that I find fairly intriguing is SBS's "Living with the Enemy". The aim of the show is for two individuals to spend a week in each others lives and confront one another's prejudices in existing Australian society. The most recent one (that i saw) was about religion. A 'born and bred' Australian man lived with a muslim family and confronted his fears about a common news theme of terrorism. Unfortunately, one of the participants stormed out during the show, so we never saw how he showed them his way of life. Even though this show never reached a full resolution, it was interesting to be shown a way of life through the camera as it defeated many perceived views of what the Islam religion is about. Worth a re watch on SBS repeat.

Whilst tv shows can be fairly entertaining, the informative ones also grab my interest and I wish that there was more people out there who shared the same curiosity as myself!! I find ABC and SBS to be insightful and real with how they disclose information. One such show that has repetitively raised awareness towards all issues, Australian and International is 730 Report with Leigh Sales. A lot of my friends would groan at me discussing international politics or animal welfare, but this is simply (I tell myself) due to their immaturity in interest. A time will come for them, I remind myself. Leigh Sales is an excellent reporter and she has an outstanding method of interviewing prominent politicians. The most recent 7:30 issue that had inspired me to write this blog post was about Chloe Valentine. Chloe Valentine unfortunately died at the age of 4, despite many attempts of rescuing her from her home situation. The information regarding her death is gruesome and depressing, however, an issue that needs to be highlighted in Australian society to never allow such an awful incident to repeat.

As news floats around Facebook (or maybe just for me) that there is a rumoured 3rd Sex and the city movie (gasp ermergerd) I thought I'd recount some of my favourite Sex and The City Episodes. Now, most people may not have the patience to sit through 6 seasons of the Carrie and Big diaries, let alone all her friends. But, it can be a semi-counselling session to watch these episodes, as, Carrie actually has some useful advice. Her constant dilemmas and constant "why me" kind of relates to all individuals in one way - not necessarily her personal problems, but everyday kind of ones. I only wish to be a young woman in the same era as SATC was filmed. Everything looks a lot more straight forward without the influence of social media and iPhones that constantly consume our every spare 5 min.
A favourite quote of mine made by Carrie and Samantha is below, for your enjoyment :)
